History
1962 Embarked the educational voluntary activities motivated by the problems of youth.
1970 Nov. Held the 1st National Conference on Lifelong Integrated Education on the theme "The Earth is One". The National Conference has been held every year since then and it counted the 30th in 1998.
Also held the Regional Conferences in many prefectures, convened lecture meetings and dispatched lecturers in response to requests from various quarters in and out of Japan.
1972 Mar. Established the Lifelong Integrated Education Center.
1977 Nov. Held the 1st International Forum on Lifelong Integrated Education in Tokyo.
1978 Dec. Held the 2nd International Forum at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. The Forum has been held every four years since then.
1981 Feb. Built and moved to a new head office in Yoyogi, Tokyo.
1981 Apr. Established an incorporated foundation authorized by the minister of Education, Science, Sports and Culture. Changed the name to Nomura Center for Lifelong Integrated Education.
1988 Oct. Completion of the new head office/seminar building in Yoyogi to commemorate the 25th anniversary.
1992 Mar. Marked the 30th anniversary.
1993 Mar. Completion of the Shizuoka Seminar House in Mochimune, Shizuoka-prefecture to commemorate the 30th anniversary.
1998 Aug. Held International Forum on Lifelong Integrated Education '98, commemorating the 30th anniversary of National Conference and 7th International Forum in Tokyo.
1999 Aug. Held International Youth Forum on Lifelong Integrated Education in Tokyo.
2000 Nov. Held the 5th Intensive Seminar on Nomura Lifelong Integrated Education in Tokyo.
2002 Mar. Marked the 40th anniversary.
2003 Mar. Completion of the Second Seminar House in Yoyogi to commemorate the 40th anniversary.
Nov. Demise of Founding Director General Mrs. Yoshiko Nomura.
Mrs. Yumiko Kaneko assumed the post of new Director General.
2005 Jul. Held the Tohoku Regional Conference in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture. Since then, held the Regional Conferences across the country.
2005 Nov. Completion of Shibakawa-an in Shibakawa, Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
2006 Jan. Opening of the Yoshiko Nomura Memorial Museum in Meguro-ku, Tokyo.
2006 Nov. Held the 9th International Forum at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris and other. The first forum after the demise of the Founder.
2010 Nov. Held the 10th commemorative International Forum at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
2011 Apr. The 30th anniversary of the establishment as the incorporated foundation.
2012 Mar. Marked the 50th anniversary.
Held the Commemorative Ceremony and Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Foundation. 390 people came together including guests from UNESCO, the OECD and Ambassadors to Japan as well as distinguished guests from all sectors of society within and out of Japan, members from our overseas branches and leader members throught the country.
2013 Apr. Shifted to Public Interest Incorporated Foundation.
2014 Nov. Held the 11th International Forum on Lifelong Integrated Education 2014 in Tokyo.
Public forum on the first day and the intensive seminar for mainly overseas participants the following four days, responding to their requests that they would like to know how the Principles of Nomura Lifelong Integrated Education is practiced in everyday life as living education.
2018 Dec. Held the 12th International Forum on Lifelong Integrated Education in Yokohama and Tokyo.
Following the same format of the previous forum, public forum on the first day and the intensive seminar for mainly overseas participants for the following four days.
